5 Evernote Features Every Entrepreneur Should Know About

If you’re an entrepreneur, then it’s more than likely that you’ve at the very least heard of the multi-platform organization and note-collecting app, Evernote. Evernote not only allows you to write down your notes and save them, but it also lets its users keep to-do lists, save entire websites, and dozens of other useful things that you probably don’t even know about… yet!

5 Evernote Features Every Entrepreneur Should Know About

If you already use Evernote for its full functionality, then you may want to upgrade to Evernote Premium. The premium subscription only costs $5 per month or $45 per year up front (savings of $15 per year). You get many extra features including offline access and 1gb of upload space. {Use my link and get a FREE month of Premium!}

If you’re a regular user, premium user, or just learning of Evernote with this blog, these 5 awesome tips will make sure that you’re getting the most out of the best productivity app service available.

1. Enable Evernote 2-Step Verification

Just like with Apple security, Evernote has 2-step verification. In addition to your Evernote username and password, the 2-step verification forces the user to enter a random verification code the first time you log in to your account on any new device that Evernote does not recognize. The verification code is sent as a text message or a code generation app which is made by Evernote on your smartphone.

For this extra measure of security, turn this feature on by going to settings on the internet, then choose security. The 2-step verification may not be available for all users as of yet, but it is accessible if you have a premium or business account. This security is worth the extra work if you have a lot of very private information for your business or if you worry that your phone, tablet, or laptop may be stolen at any time.

2. Set Yourself Reminders

You can set yourself reminders for important events (or even unimportant ones!) in the Evernote app on your desktop or mobile device. To set a reminder, just go into the app and tap the alarm clock icon at the top of any note. After the reminder is set, you’ll get an alarm from the app, and if you choose, you can get an email the day that the Reminder is scheduled.

3. Evernote Works With Other Apps

Evernote can be used right along with your other favorite apps using other Evernote apps. For example, if you’re in love with the quickness of Swiftkey, then you’re in luck. Evernote connects directly to it and you can use Swiftkey Note for seamless backup and further personalization. Or if you're a fan of RSS readers, you can sync Evernote with Feedly to automatically save articles to your notebooks. The list goes on and on. Check out Evernote’s website offers on app integration by visiting their app center.

4. Web Clipper Extension Saves Websites & More

The Evernote Web Clipper extension is available for almost every browser. With just the click of a button, you can choose to clip and save a website, text, or pictures for later. The Web Clipper extension is available for Firefox, Chrome, IE, Opera, and Safari.

5. Combine Multiple Notes

There are many times that you’ll find yourself with many notes that are all basically about the same subject. You’ll find that the number of notes on one topic adds up fast, but you won’t want to spend the time copying from all the separate notes and pasting into one note. To save time, you can combine these notes on the desktop and web versions of Evernote, just select multiple notes by holding down the shift key and click. Be choosy on which you click first because they will be all named after the first note you click.

Once you are done clicking each note, you’ll then see them in a pile. Then you’ll get multiple options then in pull-down menu – email them, save the attachments that are in them, move them, or merge them. As an aside, you can’t access the notes in the extra Evernote apps (i.e., Skitch or Food) after you merge them, so be sure that you really want to combine them into one note.

These are just 5 of the dozens of amazing things that Evernote can do to help with your organization and productivity. What are some of your favorite Evernote functions? Leave a comment under this post!
