Let's Get Social – featuring Shannon Townsend

Welcome back for another week of, Let's Get Social, where I feature a different entrepreneur every Sunday!

This week I am featuring Shannon Townsend. Don't forget – if you or someone you know can help out the featured entrepreneur with their area of need (see question #4), be sure to leave a comment! Also, if you would like to be the next entrepreneur featured, learn how at the end of this post. Enjoy!

Q&A Time – featuring Shannon:

If you were a super hero, what would your super power be?

I would be able to move things with my mind!  I’m inherently lazy, so I think it would suit me very well!!

What song do you crank up when you need a boost, or are celebrating a business victory?

Dire Straits – Sultans of Swing

I see my Dad jamming on his air guitar as a kid and it amps up all of the good vibes I'm already feeling!

What's the best book you've read this year? (business or fiction)

Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead
This AMAZING book caused me to open up and be vulnerable in ways I never knew were possible.  I’ve become a massive fan of her work – it serves as a daily inspiration to be more present and vulnerable.

I love to play business matchmaker. What area of your business could you use help with, in case the Socially Aligned audience or I can hook you up with someone?

My goal for the upcoming year is to be of service!  I’d love to do more speaking engagements.  Speaking is when I’m at my best – people pick up on my energy and enthusiasm.  I get such a high from engaging with people on stage and face-to-face.

Apple or PC?

I just got a Chromebook!  I adore it – the only way it could get any better is if I could run Skype from my browser!

What's your favorite social media network for business?

I wish it was Twitter – it’s such a great concept, but I engage most on Facebook.

What hidden talent do you have that people would be surprised to learn of?

I learned to sew at the University Michigan.  I really enjoy it, but I’m very slow – my seam ripper is my best friend!

Give us the elevator pitch – what do you do and where can people find you online to connect?

Nothing gets me more excited than to set up a personalized productivity schedule that actually works for YOU.  Taking small steps is the only way to get more out of your day, if you could do it all in one fell swoop, you would have already!  Stop beating yourself up for not being perfect, take a small step – just one.  I can’t wait to help you take that first step – you’re ready!

Now for my social media tip of the week! And since Shannon  mentioned Facebook, that will be the topic! {See the embedded video below.}

  1. Great advice about the Graph search for when I do my ads for my launch. Needed this reminder, thanks Julie!
