This week I am featuring Sarah Arrow. Don't forget – if you or someone you know can help out the featured entrepreneur with their area of need (see question #4), be sure to leave a comment! Also, if you would like to be the next entrepreneur featured, learn how at the end of this post. Enjoy!
Q&A Time – featuring Sarah:
If you were a superhero, what would your super power be?
If I were a superhero my superpower would be encouragement and kindness (a bit like Wonder Woman). There are enough people out there telling you that you're wrong, you're not doing it right and you're never going to be brilliant at something. I say ignore them. Be an encourager, the world needs more people who will build you up than those that tear people apart.
What song do you crank up when you need a boost, or are celebrating a business victory?
When I'm needing a boost I listening to a song called Safety Dance by Men At Work. It's a nonsensical song and a little mad, but the underlying message is that you can do it if you want to. I defy anyone to listen to this song and not have a smile on their face by the time it's finished! A business victory has a different song, 7 Nation Army by the White Stripe… “A 7 nation army isn't going to hold me back…” Not your usual business victory tune, but I love the tune and winning at something gives me good reason to play it.
What's the best book you've read this year? (Business or fiction)
The best book I've read this year is Priceless by William Poundstone. The book is about the psychology of pricing and how people respond to certain prices and how they perceive value. It has some real laugh out loud moments, and in reading it I've addressed some of the things I use to rationalise my own purchases.
I love to play business matchmaker. What area of your business could you use help with, in case the Socially Aligned audience or I can hook you up with someone?
I help entrepreneurs and coaches increase their visibility to attract buyers. If this sounds like something you'd like to know more about, please do check out my website.n As you're a matchmaker Julie, I'm always being asked for good VAs. Ones that can use Active Campaign and have superb organisational skills.
Apple or PC?
PC. A PC was my first computer and I cannot imagine ever moving to an Apple device. I love the character that my PC has, I love its flexibility and adaptiveness.
What's your favorite social media network for business?
I've got communities on Facebook, Linkedin and Google Plus. I'm currently spending more time than I'd like on Facebook, but Linkedin might lure me back if they clean up the site a little – too many motivational quotes, half naked people and cutesy bears. I get that on Facebook!
What hidden talent do you have that people would be surprised to learn of?
All my talents are hidden ;). Joking aside, I'm a dab hand with cars, much to other people's annoyance. I've been known to change wheels on other people's cars when they got flats, get stuck in under the bonnet and get my hands dirty. I'm told I'm quite well read and a good conversationalist, and when people find out that I have a hidden grease monkey it tends to surprise them a lot!
Give us the elevator pitch – what do you do and where can people find you online to connect?
My elevator pitch – My name's Sarah Arrow and I help coaches, authors and entrepreneurs increase their visibility online with the people who matter – buyers.
