Q&A Time – featuring Marla Williams of Practical Solutions

If you were a super hero, what would your super power be?

Happiness Creator! Ability to create a happier world by increasing each person’s ability to love themselves. When people truly love themselves, it is easy to be truly happy within and more successful as a result. When one is truly happy within and are experiencing success as a result, they treat others better and it makes the world a better place.

What song do you crank up when you need a boost, or are celebrating a business victory?

There are a few I love. “I Gotta Feeling” or “Today’s Going to be a Good Day” or “I believe I can fly” are all favorites.

What's the best book you've read this year? (business or fiction)

Shift Happens! Robert Holden – great book I refer to most my clients and it is very helpful in shift their outlook and happiness.

I love to play business match maker. What area of your business could you use help with, in case the Socially Aligned audience or I can hook you up with someone?

I have not been able to get my head and heart around the social media and webinars to be able to utilize it as a tool to build my business. I keep meandering around it without totally buying in or making something happen. Not sure if it is fear or if it doesn’t fit my model. I follow my intuition and keep hitting blocks telling me it may not be a great way to go. I am not a very good “hype” person like I am seeing on the webinars or promo videos. I have built my business and success through in person networking, my stellar performance with my clients and their referrals. I believe in giving total value in all I do and sometimes feel the hype doesn’t fit who I am. I am honest, straightforward and absolutely without exception are making a big difference in my clients life’s in both happiness and success. I also need a good web person who I can turn to when I get stuck. I have a word press site that I maintain but sometimes get stuck on issues and need a good technical person who is highly skilled in word press.

What's your favorite social media network for business?

I have made the most meaningful, lasting connections on LinkedIn because it is business professionals and I have a very strong corporate business background so it fits me well. I am trying to learn the others and get comfortable with them but not quite there.

What hidden talent do you have that people would be surprised to learn of?

Part of my healing modality toolkit is healing using energy. I am trained and very experienced in feeling energy, bringing energy in, balancing it and working with energy in general to improve overall wellbeing. If my clients are comfortable in that “woo-woo” world I am able to teach others to do the same. I don’t promote that on my website due to my high level of business professional connections.

Give us the elevator pitch – what do you do and where can people find you online to connect?

Hi, I am Marla Williams, CEO of Practical Solutions and I am a happiness and success coach more traditionally called a business and life coach. My true genius is my intuitive ability to help others discover their “unique genius” and provide practical guidance on how to successfully forge their way in the business world. I am a trail blazer by nature with many successful firsts to my credits…from starting companies, programs and departments to founding schools and programs.

When you know your “true genius” you will have tremendous clarity on who you are and what you do that is as natural as breathing. When you weave your genius into your business on all levels, your business will explode like never before. I am walking proof of it. Within hours of updating my sites with my genius, I had multiple new potential clients reaching out to me, spikes in followers on all my social media sites and offers to be on 2 radio shows and an influx in business. And it continues to get better and better.
A good client for me is someone who is in business but not getting the business or reaching their ideal clients like they know they should be or someone who is in transition wanting to start a new career or business.

My motto is… “I don’t accept what is but always look to see what can be.”
